About Us

About Us

Founded in March 2000, the Albuquerque Cat Action Team is Albuquerque and New Mexico’s first and only rescue organization dedicated exclusively to helping cats and kittens in the Albuquerque metropolitan area.

Overview

What we do: We have been around 10 years. In those 10 years, we have helped over 2,400 cats. We have a sanctuary program in which we have 25 unadoptable cats which we are committed to caring for these cats for life. There is also our spay/neuter program which assists the public in obtaining low cost spay/neuter services.

Our programs are funded through private donations, memberships, and fundraising efforts of our volunteers. Donations, foster homes and volunteers are needed to help with adoptions, special events and administrative tasks. Even more so in today’s environment!

What we need: Well……. there are always things we need.
1. Cat food donations
2. Cat Litter donations
3. Gift cards to pet stores (or WalMart, Target, Kmart, etc.) so we can buy these things ourselves
4. Volunteers with creative fundraising ideas (that aren’t too expensive)
5. Cat toys
6. Sponsoring a cat in our sanctuary program
7. Donated raffle prizes (if you own a business or know someone who does)
8. Donating items to our annual yard sale
9. Making a donation to A.C.A.T. in someone’s name instead of a birthday, Christmas, or other gift to them
10. Volunteers to work special events
11. Call or email with something you think you’d like to do!
